Before you start your formal 'Business Plan' try these steps:
1) start with a blank piece of paper
2) Close your eyes - visualize the most amazing "THING" you are passionate about... what does it look like, in detail, 5 or 10 years from now - write it all out on your blank piece of paper, in detail
3) Create a timeline from where you are today and where that vision on your paper is.
4) Now when you work your business plan you can begin to put some concrete 'check points' on your time line moving you toward that vision.
